👮♀️ A complaint has been made regarding the conduct of a South Wales Police officer after he appeared to punch a man in the face during an arrest in Ely. South Wales Police has confirmed it is investigating a complaint regarding the police officer's conduct. - Holly Morgan, WalesOnline.
🌇 A Cardiff Bay office building, the former Scott Harbour, has been transformed into council flats to help boost the supply of affordable homes in the city. - Abbie Wightwick, WalesOnline.
🏥 Healthcare workers from Cardiff gathered in protest at Woodland House, in a pay row with the local health board. Carers within band two at the University Hospital of Wales say they are being paid less than those with the same roles in hospitals in Swansea. - Taite Johnson, WalesOnline.
🏥 A student called a hospital security guard a "f***ing Welsh c***" then argued the remark was not racist. Layla Ahmed later admitted her outburst at Cardiff's University Hospital of Wales was racially abusive. - Conor Gogarty, WalesOnline.
💧 Erith Contractors Ltd, responsible for polluting Llanishen Brook and Roath Park Lake, has agreed to donate £150,000 to a local environmental charity, following an enforcement undertaking secured by Natural Resources Wales. - Nation Cymru.
🎒 More than 200 pupils from schools and colleges across Cardiff are benefitting from the Cardiff Commitment’s What’s Next Award Work Experience Programme. 👧 As part of Cardiff Council's ongoing commitment to promoting civic engagement among young people, students from four schools in Cardiff, Cantonian High School, Cardiff High School, Cathays High School, and Ysgol Bro Edern, have visited County Hall and the Senedd. ⚽ A consortium spearheaded by Gareth Bale has submitted an offer to buy Cardiff City, his hometown club. 📚 Hubs and libraries across Cardiff are preparing to launch this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, from Saturday, inviting children to step into the magical world of nature and storytelling with the 2025 theme: Story Garden – Adventures in Nature and the Great Outdoors.
